THIS IS WHERE It all started...
Design and build, volunteer lead project to build a 400 m MTB dual track on FCW land at Maesgwm (the old visitor centre site on the other side of the A470) at Coed y Brenin, North Wales.
Early days (1992 we think), our first 'official' design and build, the one that began our journey from volunteers into commercial trail design and construction. We were offered two days use of a machine the rest was all hand dug. Not many pictures, as smart phones were still a little way off. The track was later used as the end section for all the trails on the Maesgwm side and eventually used for the end section for MTB cross country events, Enduro, Mawddach Goldrush etc...
Realvert was a rider brand we owned, so we though rather than spend money on main stream marketing we'd go grass roots and build a dual track instead... Lesson learnt, the tracks still there but the brand should of stuck to more conventional methods of marketing! The brand was cool and we had loads of fun with it. We sponsored the Giant Mountain Bikes UK and Global MTB Teams for two seasons, even had the Stereophonics wearing it whilst playing on stage at the opening of the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.
