Design and build of two new blue grade MTB trail sections, one descending and one climbing section for the Blue Trail at Dalby Forest MTB & Visitor Centre, North Yorkshire.
FLAINSEY RIGG
Design of 650 meters new blue graded mountain bike trail at Flainsey Rigg. This gradual descending section provides riders with a safer alternative to using the existing forest road route. The trail had to be designed inside of a narrow corridor of land running alongside the Flainsey Rigg forest road.
HOUSE DALE RIGG
Design of 1300 meters of new blue graded mountain bike trail at House Dale Rigg. The aim of this section was to move riders off the main House Dale Rigg forest road providing them with a safer, more interesting and featured climb than the forest road. This trail section needed to fit into a narrow constrained corridor of land with steep ground on one side and a commercial timber crop on the other. The trail starts with a gently climbing contouring trail leading to a stacked set of switchbacks to climb back up to the main House Dale forest road.
